New Hampshire – a beautiful and VERY treed state. The trees still have leaves and are full of color. The temperatures have been terrific lately, but are expected to fall in the next few days. This week we have enjoyed temps in the mid twenties-apparently so has Alberta so we can’t even brag about it.
The campground we are staying at is very nice. The owners have a daughter who is in grade seven-she would seriously like to take our kids to show and tell with her at her school (they are checking with school). Just imagine bringing some real live Canadian kids to school- wow! Kass is game, but Ryley is not thrilled at the idea. We’ll let you know how it unfolds.
We have been focusing on school and completing lots of projects. The campground has a great pond for looking at habitats. The pond also has a nice rocky shore that is also good for falling into the pond from-make sure to ask Kass about the experience sometime! We are happy to report that no crayfish ended up in her clothes!! The kids have been catching tadpoles, toads, frogs, newts, crayfish and more tadpoles. The most they caught (in one hour) is 70…some with legs…some without…some disabled…some nearly dead.
We had the opportunity to visit the Stoneyfield Farms Yogurt Factory-(they were closed for tours, but we did get all you can eat yogurt). Not too exciting you might say, but when they have flavors like vanilla truffle and chocolate underground it’s easier to get excited. After the yogurt factory we toured the Anhauser-Baush Budweiser Brewery to visit the famous Clydesdale horses. The tour was interesting…the beer terrible (good according to Jay)…the horses amazing.
Leaving comments on the blog. Some people have let us know that they have been experiencing problems posting- we think the best way to comment (if you want) is to go to “post comments” and then comment as “anonymous” --that way you do not have to have a Google or Blog account that will expire. You can leave your name within the actual blog. We hope that works better.
Thanks for the e-mails and we wish you all a terrific Halloween!

Hi to the adventuresome Hohns!!!!
Your blog is fanastic...Thanks for putting in the great effort to keep us all informed..It's like we're travelling right along with you. This is the cheapest holiday I have ever been on. Carey thanks you profusely for saving him the holiday cash...We have been hopping busy... too busy for a halloween party!!! yikes!!!
A bit of crummy news... Carey's sister, Gelaine, has breast cancer, so she's in the thick of her treatment. It has us in a bit of a dither as she presses forth into some scary territory.
On a lighter note, we are very busy with hockey. Morgan's pee-wees had a fantabulous game yesterday at Rocky's tournament, and they lost by 1 point today against Eckville. They play another game tomorrow afternoon. Cliff Longman is coaching, and the kids seem to really work for him. Carey's hooting on the bench and loving every minute of it. Pat Lapointe is also on the bench cheering them on. Spencer 's team is smoking hot this year, they just mesh!!The boys are in some serious training with Kandy Froelick leading them on. He's got them dryland training every other week, and they bring out their binder's that they carry with them to go over strategies for game improvement. The first practice, all the kids were looking up at their coach as he spoke at length about the need to keep their head in the game...it was all about the "mental preparedness". Keeping in mind that the boys are 9, it was most funny when Spencer joined the rest of his team in a cheer to start the practice and then whispered to me, "mommy, what does mental mean?" as he filed out to try out his new technique. Prety intense, and great just the same.
Lauren has been getting up at 7 am to practice her piano and is really doing well...she officially has me beat. Well, that is if you don't count the musical "mary had a little lamb" that I can punch out on a touch tone phone. She has promised to play for me when I am old and rocking in my rocking chair. She and I also camped out at the Tyrrell Museum and slept with the dinosaurs...pretty spooky..but a great time had by all the brownies, sparks and guides. Carey is giong up north for a week to do some drilling . He has to have all the equipment flown in by helicopter, so it should prove a novel adventure.
Well, g2g,
Love the Pearmans
